Masseur Charged With Sexual Misconduct
Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a 31 year-old Queens (NY) man on sexual offense related criminal charges.
At about 6:15PM on June 30th, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 call at Coco Nail and Spa, located at the Highlands Shopping Center on Independent Way in the Town of Southeast. The caller reported that a sexual assault had just occurred and that the perpetrator of the alleged attack was still on the premises.
Investigator Michael Nalbone of the Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Investigation was nearby and responded to the business. Upon his arrival, he was met by a 23 year-old woman who told the investigator that she was a customer receiving a massage when the masseur, an employee of the business, forcibly restrained her and touched and fondled the intimate parts of her body.
The masseur, identified as 31 year-old Bobby Kim of Flushing, New York was located in an adjacent room by Investigator Nalbone and arrested without incident. Mr. Kim was charged with Sexual Misconduct, Forcible Touching and Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree, all class "A" misdemeanors. He was arraigned before Southeast Town Justice Richard Vercollone and remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 bail. He was later released after posting the required bail.
If convicted of any of the aforementioned criminal charges, Mr. Kim may be incarcerated in the county jail for up to one year as determined by a court.
Investigator Nalbone was assisted by patrol deputies and troopers from the New York State Police. The investigation is continuing.
