Home Sheriff Announces Safe Boaters Course Sheriff Donald B. Smith announces that the Putnam County Sheriff's Department will be hosting a New York State Safe Boaters Course at the Sheriff's Department in Carmel on May 20th and May 21st, 2008 from 6:00 p. m. to 10:00 p. m. Completion of this course is a requirement for all persons who operate a personal watercraft on waters in New York State. The course is limited to thirty people.
