Southeast Woman Charged With Drug Possession

Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Town of Southeast woman on drug related charges.

Deputies Frederick Mark and Keith Blessing were on patrol in the Town of Southeast on March 16, 2008 at 3:39 a. m. when they were dispatched to a 911 report of shots fired at the Henry Van Motel, 40 Sodom Road. Upon arrival, the deputies determined that the report of shots fired had been unfounded, but an investigation revealed that a motel resident, Bonnie L. Nestoros, 42, was in possession of a quantity of marijuana and crack cocaine. The deputies arrested Ms. Nestoros and charged her with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation; and with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, a misdemeanor. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1000.00.
