Cold Spring Man Charged With Criminal Trespass
Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the recent arrest of a Cold Spring man on a charge of criminal trespass.
On January 12, 2012 at 8:20 a. m., Deputy Sheriff Andrew Kristan received a complaint from a young woman who reported that her ex-boyfriend had entered her Village of Nelsonville residence and had refused to leave. The young woman had locked herself in a bathroom and called the police. The ex-boyfriend, identified as Jesse C. Mason, 19, of 76 Clove Brook Drive, Cold Spring was gone upon the deputy’s arrival. The deputy subsequently located Mr. Mason at his place of employment. The deputy arrested Mr. Mason and charged him with Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree, a misdemeanor. The defendant was arraigned before Town of Putnam Valley Justice Louis DiCarlo and released in his own recognizance pending a future appearance in the Village of Nelsonville Justice Court to answer the charge.
If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00.
