Putnam Valley Man Charged With Unlicensed Operation
Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith announces the arrest of a Putnam Valley man on a charge of unlicensed operation.
On January 28, 2014 at 10:15 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Peter Vigillio stopped a motorist who had committed a traffic violation on Oscawana Lake Road in the Town of Putnam Valley. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Richard Torres, Jr., 25, of 10 White Hill Road, Putnam Valley held a suspended license. The deputy arrested Mr. Torres and charged him with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, a misdemeanor. The defendant was released in his own recognizance pending a February 27, 2014 appearance in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court to answer the charge.
If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00.
