Town of Southeast Man Charged With DWI
Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the recent arrest of a Southeast man on a charge of DWI.
On October 12, 2013 at approximately 3:10 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Edward Kennedy stopped a motorist who had committed a traffic violation on Route 6 in the Town of Southeast. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Jaime Haroldo Martinez-Garza, 35, of 3 Joe’s Hill Road, Southeast was intoxicated. The deputy arrested Mr. Martinez-Garza and charged him with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility where his charge was upgraded to Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor. The defendant was held pending arraignment.
If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00.
