Westchester Man Faces DWI Charge
Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the recent arrest of a Westchester County man on a DWI charge.
On September 21, 2013 at 3:23 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Frederick Mark stopped a motorist who had committed a traffic violation on Route 22 in the Town of Southeast. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Pedro L. Cavero-Claro, 38, of 160 Depester Street, Tarrytown, New York was intoxicated. The deputy arrested Mr. Cavero-Claro and charged him with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after the man failed a series of standardized field sobriety tests. The deputy additionally charged Mr. Cavero-Claro with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, a misdemeanor, after determining that the man held a suspended license. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department and held pending arraignment.
If found guilty of the misdemeanor charges, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00 for each charge.
